Your Journey

Pristine white linen and sparkling glassware adorn your table in one of our individually decorated 1930s Pullman-style carriages, which have been lovingly restored by some of the country's top craftspeople, including marquetry experts, muralists and mosaic artists. Within minutes, one of our liveried Stewards will carefully pour you a sparkling Mimosa cocktail as you study celebrated Head Chef Matthew Green’s sumptuous menu.

Ahead lies a journey back to the Golden Days of rail travel, a time when nothing was too good for the pampered passengers. Our Executive Head Chef and his team will already be hard at work in the kitchen carriage preparing a sumptuous three-course brunch and six-course dinner, accompanied by our Sommelier’s choice of wine. Each course boasts the finest seasonal ingredients from the British Isles, classic and innovative dishes are crafted in our recently refurbished kitchen carriage.

Upon reaching Llandudno Junction Station, transfer by coach to the distillery nestled beneath the Great Orme rock. Explore Penderyn's history, peat-style whisky development, and savour tastings. Free time in charming Llandudno town awaits with its Pier and Victorian Promenade.

Learn about the founding of Penderyn, the development of the new distillery peat style whisky and how the award-winning whisky is made that makes the Penderyn Single Malt Whisky so unique. After the tour enjoy some free time in Llandudno town with its Pier, Victorian Promenade, vast array of shops, cafes and pubs.

On the return journey, relish a Champagne reception, canapés, a sumptuous six-course dinner, and a Penderyn Whisky as your digestif. Marvel at coastal views, reflecting on a splendid day.

Penderyn is a Welsh whisky distillery renowned for producing the first commercially available whisky in Wales since the 19th century. Located in the village of Penderyn, Rhondda Cynon Taf, it operates as the Penderyn Distillery (the Welsh Whisky Company). The flagship product, Penderyn single malt whisky, comes in various expressions like Madeira Finish, Peated, Sherrywood, and Portwood. Additionally, the Dragon range offers Legend (Madeira finish), Myth (Bourbon finish), and Celt (Peated). Established in 2000 as the Welsh Whisky Company, Penderyn marked the revival of Welsh whisky production, with sales commencing in 2004. Beyond whisky, the distillery crafts non-whisky products such as Merlyn Cream Liqueur, Five Vodka, and the award-winning Brecon Gin, which received "Gold Best in Class" at the International Wines & Spirits Competition in 2011.

Llandudno, a seaside resort in Conwy County Borough, Wales, is situated on the Creuddyn peninsula extending into the Irish Sea. In the 2011 UK census, the community, encompassing areas like Gogarth and Penrhyn Bay, had a population of 20,701. Translating to "Church of Saint Tudno," Llandudno earned the title "the Queen of the Welsh Watering Places" by 1861, being the largest seaside resort in Wales. Once part of Caernarfonshire, it was previously in the district of Aberconwy within Gwynedd.
