Sophisticated and genteel, Bath, with its honey-coloured Georgian buildings, cosmopolitan restaurants and chic boutiques, is best known for its well-preserved Roman baths, where Roman nobles once bathed, chatted and conducted their business.
And what better way to visit the city than aboard the sophisticated and genteel Northern Belle?
From the moment you board over a red carpet on the station platform and take your seat at a table set with bespoke china, gleaming cutlery, sparkling glassware and immaculate linen, you will know this is going to be something special.
Attentive, liveried stewards will welcome you with a sparkling Mimosa or signature Bloody Mary cocktail before serving a delicious three-course brunch during the journey to Somerset.
During the afternoon, there will be ample time to explore Bath, with the centrally situated station just a short stroll from the city’s fine shops, cafés and other attractions.
While you soak up the atmosphere, our Director of Food and Beverages, Brian Clark, and his team of chefs will be hard at work preparing a sumptuous five-course dinner, accompanied by the finest wines, for the journey home in the evening.
Even the Romans, in days of old, wouldn’t have enjoyed a finer gastronomical feast!
The only British city designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, Bath is most famous for its Roman baths dating back to AD 43. But wander through Georgian streets such as The Royal Crescent and The Circus, and it’s easy to imagine yourself in a novel by Jane Austen, one of its most famous residents. Or pop into the nearby Mary Shelley House of Frankenstein!
