IT was a cold, wet and windy morning at Carnforth when we pulled out at 6:30am on our way to collect the first passengers of the year for our Valentine’s and Spirit of Travel Lunch.

After arriving at York station, following the 89-mile cross- country jaunt, we rolled out the red carpets on the platform and welcomed our guests on board.

Our friendly stewards wasted no time in popping the champagne corks to serve up a glass of beautifully-chilled Laurent-Perrier to start the day.

The route took passengers on a scenic round trip, via the East Coast, passing Selby, Hull, Goole, Hatfield & Stainforth and Church Fenton.

On-board we enjoyed entertainment from our ever popular duo Casablanca Steps, and our table magician John.

With it being Valentine’s, romance was most definitely on track.
