Blenheim Palace

Lancaster, Preston, Manchester

The Experience

Northern Belle Crest Logo

Blenheim Palace is a monumental country house in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England. It is the principal residence of the Dukes of Marlborough, and the only non-royal, non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title of palace.

Your journey begins as your steward welcomes you aboard the Northern Belle to your comfortable armchair seat. Elegant tables laid with starched tablecloths, uniquely branded silverware and highly polished glasses complement the luxurious carriages.

Fine dining is a highlight of every journey and, once you have settled in, a delicious brunch with a Bellini is served as you travel towards Oxford. In the care of your steward, sit back and relax in the convivial atmosphere, enjoying the views from your window. On the Northern Belle, the journey is as exciting as the destination.

On arrival at Oxford Parkway station, our guides are waiting to take you on a short coach journey to Blenheim Palace.

A masterpiece of Baroque architecture, Blenheim Palace provides an awe-inspiring experience for visitors

Home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and his family, Blenheim Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site boasting a long and diverse history. Blenheim Palace was built as a gift to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, from Queen Anne and a grateful nation in thanks for his victory at the Battle of Blenheim on 13th August 1704.

The house and gardens are simply magnificent and you will tour independently to discover its rich history, fine interior and beautifully landscaped gardens.

After a wonderful day rejoin the coach for the short journey back to the station, where we welcome you back on board the Northern Belle with a refreshing glass of champagne.

Later, you are served a sumptuous five-course dinner accompanied by half a bottle of wine as we travel home.
