Our sister company West Coast Railways is the proud owner of coaches that represent the only genuine Mark II Pullman set operating on main line, all accommodating a maximum of thirty-six guests. We invite Northern Belle guests priority booking on this limited series of journeys. Please note these are not Northern Belle carriages and hosted by West Coast Railways stewards.

Our Standard Class passengers will travel in refurbished Mark I or Mark II coaches. All our First Class and Standard Class passengers will have access to the buffet car and of course your very own picture window.

However, you choose to travel, journeys from the capital offer the discerning traveller a rail experience of a bygone age, as we leave the hustle and bustle behind, relax in our armchair seat and enjoy a magnificent dining experience.

THE STRATFORD PULLMAN

Stratford-upon-Avon, a medieval market town in England’s West Midlands, with more than 800 years of history, is the 16th-century birthplace of William Shakespeare. Possibly the most famous writer in the English language, Shakespeare is known for his sonnets and plays such as 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'Hamlet'.

You may wish to visit Shakespeare's birthplace with its museum collection or maybe take a tour of Anne Hathaway's cottage with its gardens.

However there is much more to Stratford than just William Shakespeare. A charming medieval centre with timber framed buildings and lots of independent shops makes for a lovely afternoon visit.

This trip is hauled by vintage diesel aboard our beautiful land cruise train 'Spirit of the Lakes'.

The historic town of Sherborne will once again light up for Christmas with a free-entry Festive Shopping Day on Sunday 4th December from 10am–4pm. Organised by volunteers from Sherborne Chamber of Trade and Commerce, the event offers a great family day out, while raising awareness for many local charities.

Sherborne’s Festive Shopping Day is always well supported with the main shopping area of Cheap Street closed to traffic.

Visitors will be able to browse Sherborne’s wonderful shops, all offering great ideas for Christmas gifts and entertaining as well as countless places to enjoy something to eat and drink.

There’s the award-winning Christmas display at Castle Gardens too, just five minutes taxidrive from the town centre.
